Madagascar holds one of the highest malnutrition rates in the world according to the study published in 2002. It was worsened by the politico-social crisis that prevailed in the country after the December 2001 presidential election protestation. The government then launched with the World Bank funding through CRESAN II Project a program called Capacity Building of the Malnourished Children Management in the CRENIs. The CRESAN (2003-2005) and then the ONN (2006-2007) were the funders of the project during these five years. Adra Madagascar was offered 4 Crenis (Ambohimiandra for Antananarivo Province, Moramanga, Mahanoro and Toamasina for the Toamasina Province)

Project's activities

ADRA worked in four hospitals where we provided supplemental feeding for severely malnourished children who came to the hospital for care. While at the hospital, the mother received education in farming techniques and hygiene.
